Bernard Hughes: AHPRA registered Clinical Psychologist (BPsych) (MPsych Clinical), based in Perth, Western Australia. 

Since 2017, I have prepared comprehensive independent psychological reports on a regular basis for Criminal Injuries Compensation matters considered by the Office of Criminal Compensation. I have extensive experience assessing individuals who have experienced multiple incidents and complex trauma, and I conduct all assessments in a sensitive, structured, and trauma-informed manner.

I also have over ten years’ experience working as a clinical psychologist providing treatment to adults across a broad range of mental health presentations, including trauma-related disorders and PTSD. In addition to criminal injury matters, I have experience assessing psychological injury in workplace and personal injury contexts, conducting cognitive and functional capacity assessments within the disability and NDIS sectors, and completing psychological assessments of candidates for emergency services roles.

This combined clinical and assessment background informs a careful, supportive approach that prioritizes diagnostic accuracy while minimizing distress throughout the assessment process.
